I've completed a sweep of the recent improvements suggested to us by our many sage users, and have added many of them to the "Next Up Improvements" page for your voting pleasure. While we have our next couple weeks already scheduled out, we'll be keeping an eye on this list later this month to see which features are most popular so we can get the buggers online. It looks like some items on the list have already been implemented, maybe they should be removed from the list? (for example: add Google analytics, see calc shipping from item page, and add “save for later” from item page)

Why? Insurance protects the Seller not the Buyer. Sellers know they are responsible for insuring their products no matter what delivery service they use. They know they are responsible should something get lost, stolen, or damaged during the delivery.
Adding ‘Optional Insurance’ is a sure-fire way of letting Buyers know you, as a Seller, are trying to defraud them. It is because of actions like this that eBay finally made so many rules in favour of the Buyers, and the Sellers came over here sniveling.
The next thing we’ll find being condoned is the miserable practice of Sellers stating in their ads that if the Buyer does not buy said Insurance they, the Seller, will not be responsible for what happens to the package after it leaves their hands… which is an out-and-out lie.
I am sorry that Bonanzle has caved-in to this practice… it is wholly lacking in integrity.

Hmm must admit I went back and reconsidered my voting options and actually changed one to yes that I previously thought unnecessary here – after reading the comment two up from my first comment here… I now wish it were all ready on option after reading that rot… anyone who thinks that adding Postal Insurance to a shipment means that the seller is automatically trying to defraud them obviously never watched the way the some Postal employees use Packages like footballs! Insurance protects both the buyer as well as the seller for goodness sake! Bill feel free to delete this if you think you should it won’t hurt my feelings a bit but I just had to sound off about that comment…

Ziggy… I am sorry to have to tell you this, but if you’re a Seller, you aren’t a very good one. Why? Because you obviously don’t know the LAW… as in, FEDERAL LAW.
Insurance DOES NOT protect the Buyer… it only protects the Seller, since the Seller is responsible by FEDERAL LAW for 1. shipping said product within 30 days of sale, and 2. guaranteeing that said product arrives undamaged.
Every single Seller with an ounce of integrity should automatically cover his/her shipments with Insurance and assure his/her Buyers in their ad that it is so.
This practice of ‘Optional Insurance’ and ‘I won’t be responsible if you don’t purchase it’ is outright crap. If you don’t think so, just go on over to PayPal, or your nearest Post Office, and find out how many Buyers file for recompense because they either didn’t receive the goods they PAID for, or the goods were damaged in transit. Then find out from those same agencies just WHO is responsible. PayPal and the Post Office will side with the Buyer every time.
Why is this so? Why did the Federal government have to step in and make such a law? Because of Sellers like you who want to reap profits without taking responsibility for the cost of actually being in a retail business.
Insurance: I elect to provide insurance on some shipments to protect myself. If the package arrives marked “fragile” by a 400 pound USPS gorilla on a pogo stick – I can at least be reimbursed for the item.
Voting on upgrades: Any Bonanzle members still having items on feebay no doubt received today’s email about 50% off fees BUT the clincher was at the bottom of the email where they once again “laid down the law” of what you can and can’t do. Did we vote on that at feebay?? don’t think so.
Before anyone feels compelled to gripe about changes and/or upgrades here – doubtful, but there is always one – think about why you left feebay and came here………………..

There really is no reason to regulate business practice of other businesses. Sellers who are unreasonable and/or unappealing as a result of their policies will fail on their own. The important thing for you to focus on is your own success, and if potential customers find your policies more attractive than you have a competitive advantage in the market. It is actually to your benefit when other sellers create unreasonable policies. If we are all the same what will motivate anyone to purchase from you rather than another seller with the same policies, products, pricing…..
Many of the current issues we are all being abused by on eBay are a result of eBay interfering in the marketplace to their own benefit. If everyone offers free shipping there is no longer a competitive advantage to be leveraged with free shipping. If everyone offered the same price (regardless of the quality of product) which eBay is pushing for by serving up lowest price including shipping in search we lose the ability to succeed on product quality, store sales, and/or pricing. There is no benefit to a market system when the inputs are over regulated. Of course inputs can be under-regulated such as eBay as an input in our greater market system and this has resulted in a micro-economy of consumers being exploited by over-regulation for self-serving benefits even if they are short run in strategy.
The health of an economy is dependent on its competitive advantages. Competition drives innovation & naturally regulates pricing and policy. As a result of eBay’s over estimate of its monopoly power it has neglected to enhance its service and has in fact degraded its value substantially with a broken search platform, unreasonable and self-serving policy, and out of line pricing. If eBay’s out of whack equilibrium relative to the value of its venue & the costs to use it and the insane policies have caused a significant decrease in user base then new sites such as Bonanzle have an opportunity that was not there prior to John Donahoe.
We all see the value and our task is to inform the rest of the world of the opportunity that we have to escape the tyranny of John Donahoe as both buyers and sellers. Bonanzle is the clear opportunity that we have been waiting for. If we start in with the over reaching out of line interference we have experienced on eBay we will only land in the same position in the end. I know what is good for my business I don’t need the input of anyone else other than my customers.
