Photo caption of Canada geese in winter
A flock of Canada geese, like some naval armada of fat-bellied, web-footed feathered vessels, steer a westward course through the waves of the Calumet-Sag Channel off Palos Park last Friday afternoon. Early in the snowstorm that blanketed the area with some six inches of white flakes that rain and sunshine mostly melted by Tuesday, the waterfowl task force was found to go airborne in their familiar V-formation at the first tremors to stir the surface from the approach of another man-made barge churning the once placid waters.
